Forex Secrets - Is There A Holy Grail?

Are there actually forex secrets?  Is there something out there that’s really going to give me a profitable trade 100% of the time?

Are you freaking me??? Of course not!!!

The problem is that when you have 95% of forex traders losing money and only 5% making money or breaking even, it’s only natural that the 95% think that the 5% have some secret that only they know.

Better yet, the 95% think that the forex secret can be found if you buy enough bells, whistles, toys, gadgets, gimmicks, indicators, robots, “state of the art” software, etc….The list seemingly goes on and on.

Let me relieve you of a lot of heartache.  The idea of “the more toys you have, the better trader you are going to be” doesn’t work.  If you think it does, then you’ve seen too many movies where brokers are looking at 30 computer screens at one time. 

To put it as delicately as I can, there is no, and there never will be such a thing as a holy grail.  It cannot, and won’t ever exist, so you can relax knowing you don’t have to look for it anymore.

I guess the real forex secret is that there isn’t one. Well…..maybe just one.  The secret is you’ve got to understand the market. If you want to use fundamental analysis, you’d better know about economics, how international news affects currency, etc…

If you want to use technical analysis you’d better know about price action.

All of this may sound like common sense, but you’d be surprised how easy it is to forget about common sense, when you’re looking for the ultimate holy grail, which ironically doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

Because you know what I say to myself when I see somebody spending thousands of dollars on the latest charting platform or on some forex trading robot?  I think to myself, “now there is a trader who has no interest in learning the right way to trade. He just wants to strike it rich.”

I don’t blame that trader for wanting to be rich, but unfortunately it doesn’t quite work like that.  Who wouldn’t want to be rich without doing any of the work?? If it was that simple, we’d all be millionaires.

If you want to separate yourself from all the other struggling traders, think about doing something really radical.  Start by opening your charts and get rid of every single indicator that’s usually on it, so all that you are left with is a simple bar or candlestick chart.

Now all you have to do is watch!!  Watch the market throughout the day. It may not be clear right away, but eventually you’ll notice that there are patterns in the market, and they are happening all the time.

It’s about time that forex traders started looking for a forex trading system that taught you this kind of stuff, not about moving average crossovers, stochastics, etc…
